Prior Park College invited Emily to take a whole school assembly after her success at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Having worked part time at the school in the build up to the games, the college were extremely proud of Emily, and both students and staff were keen to hear about Emily’s build up to the games as well as what it was like to compete for Great Britain at the Olympics and of course find out some behind the scenes gossip of life in the Olympic Village.
Emily spoke about the various obstacles she had to overcome in order to qualify for the Games as well as the highs and lows of being an elite athlete. Students and staff left Emily’s assembly feeling very inspired and motivated to follow in her footsteps and especially enjoyed grabbing a photo of Emily and her medal while leaving the assembly hall.
“Emily worked with the PE Department as the Sports Administrator for one year up until February 2017. Emily is the ultimate professional. She committed to a wealth of administrative organisational matters with the utmost thoroughness and empathy for the sporting needs of both the staff and students at Prior Park College.
Emily shared her passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of sporting development with both students, parents and staff during informal meetings, lessons, and, an incredibly articulate and enthusiastic Sports Assembly. During this assembly presentation to six hundred students and staff, Emily told her story, the highs and the lows, the hard work and determination required to achieve her goals and her experience at London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics. Emily’s passion, enthusiasm, mental toughness, resilience and drive have been a credit to her and a total inspiration to anyone she meets.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Emily to deliver motivational presentations to both adults and young students.” L. Redman. Head of Academic and Curricular P.E. Prior Park College.
